In Counter-Strike 2 and its older versions, there have always been, and still are, some words or terms that you may not have heard or don’t understand. This small guide will help you know the most popular concepts, words, and phrases in CS2.

Ace

An ace occurs when a player manages to secure five kills in a single round, effectively eliminating the entire opposing team on their own.

AFK

Shorthand for "Away from keyboard," in which a player is not currently present at the computer

Bomb

This is an item that a terrorist team always has at the beginning of the game. Their task is to plant this bomb in a special place called a "bombsite."

Bombsite

This is the place where terrorists must plant the bomb, and counter-terrorists must defend this place so that no bomb is planted on it.

Burst

A shooting method that involves a short burst of 3-5 bullets.

Buy round

It's round when the team has enough money to buy everything necessary for victory, such as weapons, grenades, and armor.

Boost

This term is used to request assistance in reaching an elevated position. For instance, if a teammate is unable to climb onto a box, they might ask another player to crouch beside it, allowing them to step up as if climbing stairs.

Bunny hop, Bhop

This dynamic gameplay mechanic allows players to continuously jump and traverse the map at a significantly accelerated pace. Typically, this technique is employed by professional gamers or highly skilled players who have invested countless hours mastering its intricacies.

CS2 (Counter-Strike 2)

CS2 (Counter-Strike 2) is a multiplayer shooter that's been around since 2004. Over the years, it's gotten better and better in both looks and gameplay. Initially, there was Counter-Strike, then Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike Source, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Counter-Strike 2, the latest and most current version of the game.

CT Team

One of the teams whose task is to protect a certain territory from terrorists who can plant a bomb or take hostages.

Clutch

A clutch situation arises when a single player remains alive against one or more opposing players.

Case

A special in-game item that contains random skins for various weapons.

Defuse kit, kit

A special set that the counter-terrorist team can buy to speed up the bomb defuse. If you defuse the bomb without this kit, you will need to spend 10 seconds, but if you have it, then only 5.

Device

his is a generic term referring to your primary weapon, which could be an AK-47, M4A1-S, M4A4, AWP, or any other firearm available in the game.

Drop

This word is commonly used to request that someone provide you with a weapon or other items. The phrase originated long ago, stemming from the in-game mechanics of transferring items between players.

Default

The name of a position on any map where enemies typically hide. It can vary from map to map, but this is where you will most often encounter opponents.

Eco round

An economy round is a phase in the game where a team is forced to conserve their funds and purchase the cheapest pistols or devices available. Often, an eco round involves a team purchasing nothing at all in order to ensure a strong economic position in the following rounds.

Entry

Also often called Entry Frag, this is the term for a situation where a player gets the first kill in a round.

Flesh

A special grenade that can deprive the opponent of visibility, especially those who will look at it during the explosion. Usually, such grenades are used to break through the defense.

Frag

This is the name given to killing one opponent. For example, if you managed to kill two enemies in one round, you can say that you made two frags in this round.

Force round

This term is frequently heard in the gaming community. It refers to a round where a team spends all their available funds on equipment. This can be a risky strategy as purchasing subpar weapons and losing the round can significantly hinder a team's performance in subsequent rounds.

Fake

Often used in situations when you need to perform some actions to confuse the enemy. For example, your team wants to attack A site, and you can go to B site and pretend that your team will attack there, thereby confusing the opponent.

Farm gun

Used to refer to submachine guns that are relatively inexpensive but bring more money per kill than standard weapons.

Flick

It's a quick mouse movement that can help players focus their fire on an opponent quickly.

FPS

Frames per second. A technical indicator of how many frames you see. The more frames you see, the smoother the image, and therefore, the sooner you will see an opponent who suddenly appears in front of you.

Float Value

An indicator from 0.00 to 1.00. The higher this value, the worse the skin will look. In the game, this is called wear. This indicator determines the quality of the skin. For example, FN: from 0.00 to 0.07, MW: from 0.07 to 0.15, and so on.

GG

Shorthand for "Good game”

GG WP

Shorthand for "Good game well played“

GH

Shorthand for "Good half“

GJ

Shorthand for "Good job"

HE (High Explosive)

One type of grenade that can greatly damage enemies or break some map elements, such as grids or doors.

Headshot

This is when your bullet hits the opponent's head. The word is very often used for communication and explanation.

HP

Hit points. The amount of health the player has, ranging from 100 (full) to 0 (death).

Marketplace

These are special online websites that deal with the buying and selling of skins.

No-scope

This term is specifically associated with sniper rifles and indicates that you are not currently using the scope. It's often used to describe a kill, as in "I killed him with a no-scope," meaning you eliminated your opponent without aiming through the scope.

Ninja Defuse

As the term implies, this refers to defusing the bomb in a stealthy, ninja-like manner. It is typically used when a Counter-Terrorist player defuses the bomb using a smoke grenade to conceal their actions.

NT

Short for "Nice Try," often heard or seen when a player attempts to win a round but fails.

Noob

A person who is unskilled or inexperienced at a game.

Pistol round

Usually, the first rounds of both halves of the game, but if you want to make an eco round, some players may also call it a pistol round because you don't buy anything except a pistol.

Push, Rush

A command that means you need to move without stopping to quickly take the necessary positions and prevent the enemy from collecting their thoughts

Peek

Means exiting from cover to engage in a firefight with an opponent.

Round

A specifically allotted time during which you need to complete your in-game task. For terrorists, it's planting a bomb. For counter-terrorists, it's preventing the bomb from being planted or defusing it. Each round lasts 1 minute and 55 seconds.

Retake

A term meaning your team or some players change positions on the map and plan to attack in a different location.

Save

You can hear this if you are left alone against many opponents, and in order not to lose your weapon, you can hide on the map to save this weapon for the next round and not spend money on it.

Site

This is a common term used to refer to one of the sites or objectives in a game, such as site A or site B.

Smurf

A highly skilled player who intentionally plays on a lower-ranked account, often to help a friend.

Skins

These are special in-game items that replace the look of ordinary weapons with a more beautiful and unique appearance. The first skins appeared in the game back in 2013 and have since become very popular, as they bring variety to the game and allow players to stand out.

Stattrak

This is a special counter on a weapon that counts how many kills you've made with that weapon.

Sticker

This is a special sticker that can be glued to your weapon to make it unique. Stickers come in various themes, from tournaments or with player signatures. In addition, there are also funny and colorful stickers with different effects.

T Team

The second team whose task is to break through the opponent's defense and complete the round's objective, plant a bomb, or kill all opponents.

Tap

A shooting method based on a single shot. Because you only fire one shot, your weapon remains stationary and will always hit where you aim.

Timing

A very broad concept, generally referring to a specific period of time in which certain actions take place. This can be tactical knowledge of when someone will appear in a certain area of the map or simply a feeling gained from experience, where you no longer look at the timer but know when someone will appear.

Trade-Up Contracts

This is a special offer available to every player. You can exchange 10 of your skins and get one random skin of a higher level.

WH (WallHack)

This is a special software that is forbidden to use. With this software, a player can see through walls, thus providing himself with an advantage.
